Lecture Synopsis:
Dental Jiu Jitsu - Dr Emma Perry
A basic theoretical introduction to the martial art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and how its principles can be applied to managing dental patients.

Menopause and the Oral Environment: An Overlooked Area in Oral Health Care - Ingrid Rodriguez
Menopause affects millions of women in Australia, yet its impact on oral health is often overlooked. This session explores how hormonal changes influence the oral environment and outlines practical ways oral health practitioners can recognise and support patients experiencing menopause-related oral changes in everyday practice.
Learning outcomes:
- Recognise common oral changes associated with perimenopause and menopause
- Understand how hormonal changes may influence saliva, oral tissues and the oral environment
- Apply practical chair-side approaches to support patients experiencing menopause-related oral changes
Spot it before they do - Dr Hui Lau
Oral Health Practitioners are the first to spot orthodontic anomalies — often months before formal review. This practical CPD session covers five high-yield anomalies (supernumeraries, missing teeth, impacted teeth, crossbites, and skeletal discrepancies), with a focus on chairside recognition, red flags, and confident referral timing.
